Privacy Policy

FableAstro is built local-first: the app is designed so your most personal information (your birth moment, your chart, your journal) lives on your phone. This policy explains what we collect, what we don't, and the choices you have.

What stays on your device

• Your birth data (date, time, and place of birth) and the natal charts computed from it.
• Birth data you enter for other people in your orbit (partners, family, friends, coworkers).
• Your journal, including entries and notes to your future self.
• Your readings, which are computed and cached on your device.

None of this leaves your phone unless you sign in and turn on cloud backup, described below.

What we collect if you sign in

Signing in is optional. You can sign in with Google, Apple, or a phone number. The only purpose of an account is so FableAstro can back up and restore your charts, Orbit people, and journal if you get a new phone.

• Google Sign-In (if you choose it): we receive a basic account identifier from Google (typically your email and a stable user ID) via Firebase Authentication so we can link your cloud backup to you. We do not use Google Sign-In to access your Gmail, Drive, contacts, or other Google products, and we do not post on your behalf.
• Apple Sign-In (if you choose it): we receive an Apple-provided account identifier (and an email only if you share one) for the same backup purpose.
• Phone number (if you choose it): Firebase Authentication verifies you by SMS code and uses the number as your account identifier. We never see your SMS messages. Phone sign-in is also what enables optional friend matching in the directory.
• Cloud backup copies your charts and journal entries to Firestore (Google Cloud), stored under your account and readable only by you.
• Friend matching: if you choose to publish your profile so friends can find you, we store a one-way cryptographic hash (SHA-256) of your phone number alongside your sun, moon, and rising signs. Your raw phone number is not stored in the directory, and you can unpublish at any time by signing out.

Contacts

If you use "Add from contacts," the app reads your contact list on your device to find matches. Contact names and numbers are matched locally against hashed directory entries. Your contact list is never uploaded, stored, or shared.

Reading generation

Daily readings are written with the help of a language model. The request contains only the astronomical facts of the day and chart placements: planetary angles, signs, and houses. It never contains your name, phone number, journal entries, location, or any other personal information.

Purchases

In-app purchases are processed by Apple or Google and managed through RevenueCat, which receives an anonymous identifier and your purchase state. We never see your payment details.

What we never do

• No advertising, and no advertising trackers.
• No selling, renting, or sharing of your data with data brokers.
• No reading of your journal by anyone, including us.
• No collection of your device's location.

Data retention and deletion

Data on your device is deleted when you delete the app. If you used cloud backup, you can delete your cloud data by signing out (which unpublishes your directory entry) and emailing admin@reactionmastergame.com to request full account deletion. We honor deletion requests within 30 days.

Children

FableAstro is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (including under GDPR and CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. Because almost everything lives on your device, most of this is in your hands already; for anything stored in the cloud, contact us and we will help.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the date above and, for material changes, note it in the app. We will never quietly weaken the promises on this page.
